  • Nurturing Transparent and Equitable Partnerships along with Accountability
  • The Importance and Value of Partnerships with Local Grassroots artists and organisations with Festival and arts & culture Event leads
  • Within these partnerships Grassroots artists and orgs. need to be paid and valued for their time and work
  • Sharing resources within partnerships and committing to prep & feedback meetings
  • Local Grassroots artists and organisations should be in Leadership Roles within RBKC Arts & Culture Festivals and Events and always Programmed as precedent before outsourcing
  • Local Arts & Culture Festivals need to be programmed in a more equitable way
  • Lifelong multi-cultural grassroots veterans and ambassadors from RBKC need to be a part of Policy-making within the sector
  • A Pledge to Invest more into Local multi-cultural/diverse professional artists & grassroots orgs not just with the small Arts Grant, also in the RBKC Arts Festivals by commissioning & investing in our creative ideas
  • Fair Pay to All arts & culture practitioners, don’t expect locals to freely do what others are paid well for

K&C Arts Festival spent £1.5mil over 3 yrs – Less than 5% put into local grassroots voices of the arts in RBKC! – Kamitan Arts commit to developing an Annual Poetry Fringe as a gradual evolution of our annual ‘Poetry on the Steps’ @ Opera Holland Park & to continue the legacy of the ‘Poetry Corner’ that we’ve been partnering on and is now axed out of K&C Arts Week! KA will commission at least 3 marginalised Poets from RBKC this Summer! KA will also host a series of panels and forums with partner organisations on the theme of ‘Equity in Arts & Culture’ and ‘Equitable Partnerships’ as well as ‘The importance of grassroots artists and organisations at the core of our arts & culture endeavours!’
